Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the general custodial maintenance of Streets & Drainage and Traffic office buildings;
- Performs any and/or all of the following duties: sweeps, mops, disinfects, waxes floors, vacuums carpets, dusts and polishes furniture, changes light bulbs, cleans windows, walls and water fountains;
- Assists in arrangement of furniture; empties trash receptacles;
- Cleans kitchen and rest rooms including mirrors, commodes and sinks;
- Coordinates and maintains all supplies including janitorial supplies as necessary;
- Makes sure that all broken facilities are reported to the proper person and follows up on the report.
Job Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of the materials, techniques and methods used in facility maintenance;
- Knowledge of safe efficient use of equipment and materials used to maintain a clean and operational building; knowledge of mixing the various cleaning solutions that are to be used to clean the different types of surfaces in the building; knowledge of maintaining large commercial buildings.
- Skilled in the operation and maintenance of custodial equipment such as, but not limited to floor scrubber, shampoo machine, floor waxer, and vacuum;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Qualification & Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent; minimum six (6) months experience performing custodial work.
