Job Description:

This series specification describes two classes used to perform analytical, forecasting, planning and/or advisory duties in the area of accounting. Positions are typically located in a departmental accounting office or in a central fiscal control setting.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain Federal Fund Grant Cash Control Cards. Monitor cash and expenditure balances for active projects. Maintain and analyze monthly Plan of Financial Adjustment (PFA) worksheet for cash availability and authority to reimburse the Department’s General Fund Clearing Account for the programs actual and estimated state operations costs. This requires posting: award authority; journal entries; PFA’s; correction letters; and abatements to the Department’s Grand Card System. Perform monthly reconciliations between the grant card system and SCO reference detail. Research and analyze discrepancies and take appropriate action..

Job Requirements:

  • This is the full journey level, requiring independence and proficiency in handling complex and difficult assignments. Incumbents may serve as leadpersons but are not responsible for the direct supervision of other
  • Accounting Analysts or other accounting staff.
  • Equivalent to graduation from college with a specialization in accounting. (Registration as a senior student in a recognized institution will admit applicants to the examination, but they must produce evidence of successful completion of the curriculum and the prescribed courses before they may be considered eligible for appointment.)
  • This is the recruiting, developmental and first journey level class in this series, for persons qualified to perform analytical, forecasting, planning and/or advisory duties in the area of accounting..
