Job Description:
The Office Assistant (Typing) processes all CHP 202’s (Driving Under the Influence Arrest-Investigation Report), CHP 216’s (Arrest Investigation Report) and DL 367’S (Temporary Drivers’ License). Enter data into various programs, scan, renumber and rename arrest reports and lab reports. File felony and misdemeanor reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Assistant (OA) (Typing) will collect, review, enter into database, copy, file and route Vehicle Reports (CHP 180) and enter and maintain a computer database for CHP 180 information. Enter information into the Uniform Crime Reports/Access system and prepare related monthly reports for headquarters. Enter arrest data from Arrest Investigation Reports (CHP 216) into the Automated Information System (AIS) database. Generation of felony and misdemeanor logs. Coordinate and track reports due to Central Division from Area offices. Maintain a supply of and track numbered and unnumbered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plates for the Vehicle theft Unit. Greet and assists the public at the front counter; Rotates reception duties on a daily basis with other clerical personnel. Reception duties include answering and routing telephones calls to appropriate extensions
Job Requirements:
