Job Description:
The Summer Student Internship Program with the City of Round Rock is designed to provide an on-the-job opportunity to gain “real world” work experience in a career-related professional workforce environment. This is an administrative internship program.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Intern will employ their knowledge and skills through the assignment of one of the following projects:
- Progression of a Call for Service
- Research and outline a hypothetical and/or historical call for service involving multiple divisions with the Department. May reference prior calls for services, standard operating procedures, CALEA guidelines, and interviews with Department personnel.
- CALEA Accreditation
- Research the impact of CALEA standards on agency effectiveness and efficiency (broadly).
- Compare/contrast communities that have different policies (legal examples, media examples).
- Critical Incident/Time-sensitive Study
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Be enrolled full-time or a recent graduate of an accredited university or college
- Must be classified as a Graduate student and provide an unofficial transcript and resume
