USCG Jobs – Traffic Management Specialist

Job Description:

This position is located at the U. S. Coast Guard’s Surface Forces Logistics Center, Asset Logistics Division. You will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist performing transportation of freight functions by providing information to all SFLC customers regarding a wide range of transportation management issues, including service options, custom clearances, regulatory requirement, cost factors and in transit security considerations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Arranging modes of transportation to include motor, commercial, military, air, water, freight forwarders, domestics and international parcel post.
• Planning and effecting the movement of a variety of material including but not limited to classified, sensitive, hazardous, ordinance and electronic materials.
• Preparing and processing transportation documents required for the shipment of material and equipment.
• Reviewing and approving or denying carrier invoices for payment via automated systems.

Job Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
