Job Description:

Serves as a Maintenance Mechanic that accomplishes routine and emergency repair, evaluation, and installation of buildings and structures, facilities, and grounds maintenance. Incumbent has working knowledge in at least one of the areas of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), or plumbing trades.

Job Responsibilities:

This position requires knowledge and application of materials; and safety and security regulations, practices and procedures. Incumbent works from blueprints, work orders, plans, sketches and other written specifications and/or oral instructions. Incumbent must be able to maintain, repair and use a variety of hand tools, testing equipment and power equipment characteristic of the various trades.Works alone or in a group performing Mechanical, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Cable Installation/Replacement, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Painting, Concrete work, etc. Incumbent accomplishes major and minor construction, replacement, or repairs associated with all types of building facilities, and structures, both indoors and outdoors. These activities are inclusive of roof, siding, doors, windows, fences, framing, equipment platforms, and accomplishment of “finish” work.
