The ideal candidate for this position will have experience overseeing the implementation of multiple functional programs, processes, and systems in order to plan, manage, and execute hazard mitigation programs. This position starts at a salary of $120,619 (GS-14). Job Responsibilities:

  • Implementing programs to engage all stakeholders in reducing the frequency, severity, and cost of disasters, injuries, fatalities, and impact on critical infrastructure and the environment
  • Providing expert advice, guidance, and policy interpretation on a wide range of mitigation issues, many of which are complex, controversial and precedent setting
  • Coordinating assigned responsibilities in the synchronization of innovations that encourage and foster a multi-hazard, community-based approach to mitigation activities at the Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector levels.
  • Speaking at nation-wide conferences, meetings, committees and working groups in order to promote and maintain a pro-active response posture.
  • Monitoring schedules, deadlines, and benchmarks for projects, contractor progress, as well as monitoring expenditures and source of funding..
