Job Description:

The casting TS (Technical Specialist) is required to ensure the supply of the highest value of cast components while supporting the development of innovative casting solutions, casting manufacturing feasibility design reviews, advance casting technology, inspection, and process control, along with mentoring new engineers. Selection of the proper Casting Process is essential to delivering the functional properties required by the Product Design.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise to new programs, advance product engineering, and manufacturing plants
• Support casting development for Battery Electric Vehicle components
• Champion, teach and mentor casting strategies, design, tooling and processes
• Ensure that casting Design and Manufacturing Standards are adhered to and new ones are developed, as needed.
• Investigate and Advance casting technology, inspection, and process control methods
• Mentor to ensure the development and transfer of knowledge to future casting engineers.
• Continue to develop and document casting design manuals
• Act as subject matter expert for casting designs for the appropriate casting process (HPDC, LPPM, SPM, etc.), casting gating and riser design and in resolving any casting concerns
• Lead development of standardized methodologies and procedures for castings

Job Requirements:

• Certified Black Belt
• Technical knowledge of components, including cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, cam carriers, ladder frames, structural components, and EV components
• Demonstrated experience in strategy development and execution
• Demonstrated champion, mentoring and teaching skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in identifying and correcting casting problems
• Master of Science in Engineering
• Solid understanding of pressurized and non-pressurized casting manufacturing and tooling

Qualification & Experience:

• 10 or more years of casting experience, including casting design, process engineering, and tooling design, structural components, ICE and BEV powertrain components
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
