Job Description:
We are seeking an Antenna Systems Supervisor to lead a team of Antenna, RF systems, RF hardware design and Core D&R engineers in the generation and execution of the strategic direction of the antenna system. This includes the delivery and packaging of the connectivity and reception hardware (antennas, amplifiers, coaxial cables, RF filters, diplexers, splitters) for vehicle cellular, C-V2x, satellite and connectivity networks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining device application roadmap, Advanced RF Systems and Hardware Design, Investigations and Studies
- RF Exposure Limits Evaluations and RF Spectrum Management Evaluations
- Generate and execute connectivity strategy and associated hardware
- Antenna/RF Hardware DCRs, RFQs, Supplier Selection, Studio Interface
- RF System and Component Requirements and Specifications (FEDE and VSEM)
- RF System Link Budget Analysis
- Antenna/RF Hardware FEMAs, Component CVL, SOBA, PCP, CPA, Tooling and ED&T Funding and maintaining an industry / competitive analysis data base
- On Vehicle RF Hardware Architecture (Coax Routing/Lengths, Antenna Locations, Filter Locations) -Antenna/RF Hardware CTQ Health Chart Assessment
- Antenna/RF Hardware Packaging Requirements (FEDE)
- This Manager will lead a team whose roles and responsibilities include:
Qualification & Experience:
- In addition, the supervisory role will include providing RF Systems/Hardware support globally to all Ford Organizations (EESE, R&A, Connectivity), managing cost and delivery of modular catalog and program specific RF hardware.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of Antenna design and development experience
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and/or MBA
- 5+ years of formal team leadership experience
- Some travel to meet with global teams (Sunrise FL, Europe, and China) will be required.
- Experience within the Automotive industry Antenna arena
- The supervisor will be responsible to ensure that there are adequate headcount/personnel skills to achieve commitments and be responsible to ensure personnel have adequate engineering tools (software and test equipment) to achieve commitments to roles and responsibilities.
10+ years of engineering design and/or development experience
