Job Description:

Primary role is to support the dimensional control and quality department activities, namely: Plan and perform measurements ensure conformity of incoming and outgoing products. Visually and dimensional, using measurement tools, equipment, and software programs, following specified procedures and methodologies. Retrieve, analyze, interpret, validate and record measurement results and data in line with part and assembly specifications. Generate a non-conforming report for all non-conforming products, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered through all stages of the assembly process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct containment action on non-conforming products
  • Document inspection results by completing inspection reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Carry-out internal audits
  • Ensure in-process inspection meets specified quality requirements, raise a rejection note for all non-conforming results.
  • Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action to ensure open quality issues are resolved timeously.
  • Maintain measuring equipment in good working order, ensuring all measuring equipment are correctly calibrated
  • Ensure traceability of incoming and outgoing products
  • Ensure adherence and compliance to ISO9001/TS16949 Quality Management System.
  • Conducting visual inspection and measurement tests on incoming materials as per sampling plans and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Maintain 5S standards in all areas
  • Review paperwork and ensure that all out-going finished products meet specified quality requirements..

Job Requirements:

  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of quality control core tools (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC) etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Continuous improvement – desire to learn and develop
  • Must have good problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing and 5S principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of (ISO9000/TS16949)

Qualification & Experience:

  • 3-4 Years Part / Product Assembly Experience.
  • Matric with English and Mathematics (grade 12)
  • 3-5 Years Relevant Experience in the Automotive Industry
