Job Description:

This position is for a Driver Assistance Technology (DAT) and Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Attribute Engineer and focuses on ensuring features and/or AV perform so well that customers would never want to go back to life without them. You will develop and implement feature attribute requirements and specifications at the full-vehicle level and validate them according to the systems engineering model. As an Attribute Engineer, you will collaborate with research engineers, user experience teams, designers, hardware and software developers to define, develop, and verify the customer-facing attributes and performance capabilities for these advanced and autonomous systems. You will also develop new verification methods and work with vehicle, hardware-in-the-loop, model-in-the-loop and other advanced testing methodologies to validate your feature.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the virtual validation teams to establish CAE procedures to reduce dependence on vehicle-level testing
  • Lead the development of objective performance metrics, test procedures and validation plans for DAT features and Autonomous Vehicles
  • Establish Feature objectives and ensure system operation to meet the end-user/customer objectives through a structured system level test methodology
  • Collaborate with research and strategy teams to design, research, and develop DAT features and prepare them for program implementation
  • Develop pre/post processing tools using MATLAB and Vector CAN tools for data collection and analysis
  • Ensure that affected systems integrate properly to meet the requirements for proper feature-level performance
  • Ensure new features seamlessly integrate with existing features to provide a superb customer experience
  • Design validation methods to ensure feature robustness across all vehicle environmental conditions and customer usage
  • Develop & refine vehicle level feature concepts, uses cases, interfaces, and feature level specifications to ensure production feature delivery
  • Use data analysis techniques and methods from data generated by track, lab and model-based validation methods to ensure feature achieves a desired set of requirements

Qualification & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in developing features and/or attributes for vehicle systems (body, electrical, chassis, powertrain), preferably in the Driver Assistance domain
  • Experience applying Systems Engineering
  • Masters or Doctorate in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science) or related technical field
  • Experience with in-vehicle validation and assessments
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience using Vector CANape, CANalyzer and dSPACE Controls Desk or similar tools
  • Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
  • 2+ years of experience in developing features and/or attributes for Driver Assistance systems using radars, cameras, LIDAR, and/or ultrasonic sensors
  • Experience in authoring new requirements/specifications
