Job Description:

Your outstanding expertise is needed to help us drive daily reduction of electrical warranty. You will work to improve plant FTT and maintain/supervise electrical test equipment, including end-of-line testing (EOL), current based testing (CBT), A/C testing, tire pressure monitoring systems, puma, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability of latest diagnostic equipment
  • Supervise first run issues at all EOL testing and QLS control points
  • Champion use of repair tallies (enhanced eCATS / QLS)
  • Chart CBT and EOL first run issues
  • Provide test system results to other VRT teams (e.g., powertrain, handles/locks/mechanisms, exterior ornamentation, chassis and interior)
  • Assist repair personnel with difficult-to-diagnose vehicles
  • Ensure the VRT is addressing and incorporating top internal and external indicators
  • Maintain ongoing communication with repair operators to identify high repeat repair items
  • Communicate feedback from test systems to VRT leaders to improve quality & FTT
  • Train electrical repair and inspection personnel on all new model changes

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Background with Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
  • DMAIC project methodology experience
  • Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen methods
  • MEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
  • 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • 6+ months of Co-op or internship background as an Electrical Engineer
  • 6+ months of manufacturing experience
  • Bachelors in Engineering
