Job Description:

In this key position, you will help ensure the highest level of safety in our manufacturing processes as you perform safety inspections using such tools as OHSIM, MSS, and SPRB. You will drive safety improvements by conducting critical safety talks as well as by identifying and immediately correcting safety hazards and unsafe practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use On Track data (FIS, Maximo, etc.) to prioritize efforts and achieve 100% flow
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through a focused maintenance program designed to reduce scrap and ensure reliability of error-proofing devices
  • Perform safety inspections using corporate tools (OHSIM, MSS, SPRB) and conduct safety talks
  • Lead skilled trades/maintenance personnel to evaluate controls and mechanical requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, throughput, and up time
  • Minimize overtime by improving JPH, controlling absenteeism, using predictive maintenance programs; preparing for and fully utilizing down time; optimizing use of skilled labor throughout the day
  • Identify and insure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are promptly corrected
  • Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
  • Complete 100% of mandated FAS08 PMs at the prescribed frequency
  • Maintain equipment, automation, and tooling in a state of compliance with specifications, fit, form, and contamination standards
  • Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in Constraint Review Process

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Body shop/stamping/paint/subassembly experience
  • 1 or more years of Microsoft Office to include (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • 1 or more years technical work experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years automotive experience
  • Safety and Quality experience
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Prior experience managing a unionized work force
