Geico Employment – Cloud Platform Manager

Job Description:

The GEICO Plaza IT Department is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our management team as a Cloud Platform Manager. The Lead over our cloud platform management team will focus on all aspects of design, analysis, and implementation of cloud systems. The candidate will also work within a team of software cloud and IT engineers to build high performance cloud-based service adoption platforms. The ideal candidate will need to be passionate about building a state-of-the-art technology platforms and working with groups of developers/engineers and architects to define a strategy for the adoption of services.

Job Requirements:

• Maintain an understanding of advancing cloud capabilities, IT, and business needs to collaborate with business application teams on upcoming strategic decisions.
• Designing and using Infrastructure as a Code in defining your cloud management platform using terraform.
• Lead a team of Senior DevOps Engineers & Solution Architects to design cloud-based solutions with the responsibility to ensure the application teams maintains an overall productivity and efficiency in using our platform.
• Act as a product owner and maintain a roadmap of customer enhancements according to the customer’s requirements.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture team and other stakeholders to determine enterprise tools, technologies, and processes.
• Design cloud infrastructure that includes designing network, security, full stack application architecture for business applications to use.
• Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption.
• Drives the organization towards Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps, Big Data/Analytics, AI, Cloud scalability, and Micro-Services.
• Provide assessments for various type of service adoption for public cloud, COTS application used for various reasons at GEICO.
• Deliver end-to-end cloud architecture solutions.

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writen to convey cloud technologies and solutions to all levels of customer personnel
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with senior level stakeholders and development teams
