Job Description:
The Paint Process Engineer, will work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing process definition
- Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
- Human factors consideration
- Typically part of a larger effort or project
- Responsible for supervising UAW union hourly employees
- Responsible for Paint Automation, up to 100 FANUC robots
- Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
- Efficient material flow
- Continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality parts
Job Requirements:
- Ability to independently drive problems to resolution.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical prints.
- Mechanical experience – ability to troubleshoot process and equipment problems.
- Previous supervision/leadership experience
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with automation simulation software; Paint Pro, Tecnomatix Process Simulate.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with multiple FANUC robot controller platforms; RJ, RJ2, RJ3, RJ3iB, R30iA.
- Experience with FANUC Robots; P-155, P-200, P-500, P-700, S-500, M-710, M-2000.
- Experience in programming of Fanuc robots in paint processes.
