Job Description:

General Motors is looking for Automated Driving Software Engineers to help us define the driver experience for our next generation ADAS vehicles. In this role, you have the possibilities of partnering with the HMI SW development and engineering teams, Localization SW development team, System Engineering team, cross-team software engineers, and other stakeholders across GM UltraCruise. Your work will focus either on the SW design and implementation of visualization communication or the SW / algorithm design, development and deployment of vehicle localization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply solid technical understanding, critical reasoning and a structured approach to solving problems in both familiar and unfamiliar domains
  • SW design and SW code development in C++
  • Test and integrate all level of code (Unit-test, System test, etc.)
  • Multiple interaction with other SW teams
  • Analyze and negotiate requirements with System Engineering
  • Integration activities between ECUs (with VCU team) to allow end 2 end visualization solution

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills, balancing the timeliness of solutions with their sustainability. Able to prioritize competing demands based on business value.
  • 5 years of software development experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree
  • Familiarity with SW development over Linux environment
  • Desire to work closely with in-house engineers to prototype, develop, and support solutions
  • Mastery skill level in C++
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of development experience in C++ (ideally C++ 11/14)
  • The ability to quickly produce clear, testable code
