Job Description:

The Measurement Systems – Measurement Point Engineer is responsible for leading the development of the vehicle FVML, measurement point creation for Body Assembly, jewel radii, detail parts and critical sub-assemblies. This includes supervising the work of suppliers and Global Workshare team and handling deliverable forecasting, timing, and quality to standards. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity, supporting assembly plant metrology centers, as well as measurement systems personnel and suppliers, and dimensional launch teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain updates/changes in M.Pt SharePoint inventory site.
• Conduct measurement point reviews with PDT members to acquire group consensus.
• Communicate all initial releases and changes to all relevant customers.
• Program level responsibility for running the selection, creation, and maintenance of measurement point deliverables to Global/GMNA standards
• Maintain measurement points to product and process release levels to support specific build events.
• Lead EWO process and updates, including measurement points and baseline 3D CAD for scan measurement systems
• Ensure plant requests are assigned/completed in required timeframe.
• E-SAP for PO initiation, reconciliation and approval.
• Train/mentor GMTCI team members.

Job Requirements:

• 5-7 yrs experience in Manufacturing/Mfg Engineering Launch Execution
• Proficient in Microsoft software (MS Access, MS Project, MS Teams) and SharePoint Lists
• Proficiency in GD&T interpretation
• Ability to lead small workgroups in point creation/coordination activities
• Intermediate level of interpersonal skills to optimally lead PDT buyoff discussions & interact with broad customer base
• Measurement system (metrology, vision measurement, automated measurement equip) application knowledge and functionality
• High level of written and oral communications skills
• > 5 years experience working with Body and/or Vehicle level CAD, Dimensional Engineering, GD&T development, or Product Design
• Basic Quality and/or dimensional measurement knowledge
