Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing. Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Team Leader to AO Grants Evaluation Division and utilize a wide variety of coordinating, coaching, facilitating, consensus-building and planning techniques to assist the AO Division Team in completing assigned tasks.
  • Ensure ONAP’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into team strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products.
  • Articulate and communicate team assignments, potential program issues/problems to be addressed, project milestones, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
  • Coach AO Division Team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, and provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures.

Job Requirements:

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Analyzing, evaluating and recommending solutions to policy and program issues; AND
Reviewing grant applications and providing on-going technical assistance and training to grant recipients on program related issues; AND
Leading and/or guiding a team of employees and monitoring their progress towards achieving program goals and objectives. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
