Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes diverse knowledge of human resources/personnel management best practices and procedures to identify, evaluate, and integrate the widest range of considerations into problem solving efforts for serviced organizations.
  • Provides alternative problem solutions to meet management’s needs.
  • Meets with management officials at all levels regarding a variety of personnel management problems.
  • Answers questions from employees and managers on a variety of personnel management matters related to the assigned personnel management functions.
  • Provides a full range of personnel management technical advice, assistance, and related services to management officials and employees within the assigned organization on two or more of the following personnel management functions: position management/classification, labor/employee relations, staffing, recruitment, placement, human resources development, performance management, employee benefits, workforce planning, payroll/personnel processing, operational support, human resources information systems and/or occupational analysis.

Job Requirements:

  • To be minimally qualified for this position at the grade 9 level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Performing highly structured, entry-level work designed to develop broader and more in-depth assignments used within HR functions; communicating factual and procedural HR information clearly both orally and in writing; and gathering and analyzing basic facts and drawing conclusions regarding HR processes.
  • Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.
