Job Description:

This is a really exciting opportunity for a highly organised Consumer Communications Consultant with a background in communications to join our growing Communications & CSR team based at our brand new state of the art Head Office in Tolworth, within easy reach of Central London.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing communications materials including briefing documents, press releases, presentations and background research
• Working with our Marketing department and agencies to project-manage engaging and impactful communications for our customers through our owned and above the line channels
• Working with the team to devise and implement Lidl GB’s consumer communications strategy
• Management of event logistics and coordination including domestic and international press trips, wine tastings and Christmas events
• Building and coordinating national, regional and trade business announcements regarding Lidl product launches and campaigns
• Compiling and coordinating reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
• Assisting in the management of the consumer comms agency team
• Supporting with management of budget and invoice processing
• Day-to-day management of Lidl’s busy consumer press office, responding to issues and enquiries on a range of subject matters
• Staying on top of wider news agenda – informing communications team of relevant stories

Job Requirements:

• Experience using media monitoring and analysis tools such as Gorkana
• Exceptional writing skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to the company’s tone of voice
• Experience working with retailers or big brands, and a substantial understanding and knowledge of the retail sector and the role of Lidl within it
• Significant experience within a consumer communications role either at an agency of in-house
• Natural flair for problem solving
• Proactive and hands on, with a drive to continuously improve
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills and the ability to work across several projects at once
• Ability to predict the media agendas and respond to them effectively
• Excellent command of English grammar, with both verbal and written communication skills
