Job Description:
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America Inc’s Long Beach, CA office is seeking a Development Engineer to support our Telematics Infrastructure team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Continually build on self-knowledge through learning on the job, training when offered and other development opportunities
- Partner closely with our senior engineers with focus on learning and developing your skills
- Provide support for workshop and test lab related tasks and technical support to internal Telematics Test House teams, as needed
- Regularly participate in meetings and scheduled test drives, while maintaining flexibility across various projects
- Assist with resolving technical problems, report errors, support documentation and traces, and promptly communicate technical and quality related issues obtained from testing
- Provide technical support to the Electronic Systems Testing department by supporting the test environment updates (vehicles and test benches), end of line smoke/acceptance testing, verification, and validation of telematics components and their integration into a complete telematics system
- Ensure to follow testing procedures, usage instructions of special tools and diagnostic equipment. Support the documentation of missing/new procedures
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with embedded electronic systems in the automotive industry or similar
- Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and their functions
- General Automotive knowledge – Ability to understand software and hardware requirements and vehicle architectures
- Associates of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering consider; Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field of study
- Valid Driver License
- Experience in updating ECU’s as well as vehicle diagnostics and related tools
