Job Description:

You will serve the role of a Human Space Vehicle Simulation Architect. You will apply your knowledge of space vehicles, orbital environments, and established tools to create simulations of advanced space vehicle concepts that interface seamlessly with existing simulations. You must possess good software engineering skills to build and maintain sim models, as well as strong leadership and communication skills to ensure that customer needs are met and that your team performs at a high level.

Job Requirements:

In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. GS-13: To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal sector: Planning and building simulations of human space vehicles in complex orbital environments using C/C++, Trick, and orbital dynamics packages like JSC Engineering Orbital Dynamics (JEOD); Modeling and assessing operational systems on human space vehicles, including guidance, navigation and control systems; propulsion systems; and crew interfaces (displays and controls and hand controllers); Performing analyses of orbital dynamics and how they affect the performance of potential space missions around Earth, the Moon, and Mars.
