Job Description:

These positions are located in Gateway National Recreation Area and Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, in the Natural Resources Stewardship Division.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Installing, operating and maintaining resource management equipment (e.g., tools, sampling, monitoring, and photographic equipment).
  • Co-leading community-based volunteer programs.
  • Planning and implementing invasive plant control using manual and chemical methods.
  • Collecting and organizing field data.
  • Providing natural resource information to staff, park management partners and the public.
  • Conducting Biological monitoring.
  • Ensuring adequate quality control of field work and data collected.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports, plans and guidelines.
  • Providing logistical support and area orientation.

Job Requirements:

  • You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver’s license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver’s licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
