NYS Employment – Manager – Environmental Health and Safety

Job Description:

A prominent manufacturing company in the Watertown, NY area is seeking an HSE Manager for their plant. This position will lead and manage all matters concerning health, safety, environmental and security of the facility and employees, thereby assisting the facility in achieving its vision of zero incidents. This is an important hire for the company, salaried in the $115K+ range!

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the effectiveness of site policies and procedures such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work, fall protection, etc.
• Coordinate and conduct safety-related training per company policies and OSHA requirements
• Coordinate/Plan Safety Training Day(s)
• Select and maintain safety and personal protective equipment. Manage safety supply company
• Active participant in Safety Committee
• Develop, coordinate, organize and communicate safety inspections and audits of various safety and regulatory requirements
• Conduct new employee safety orientations and routine safety training sessions and toolbox talks
• Conduct contractor safety orientations for shutdowns and outside contract work
• Coordinate completion and maintenance of job hazard analyses
• Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures
• Assist in implementation of process safety management plan for flammable chemicals
