Job Description:
As the Director of Planning, you will lead key functions of Merchandise planning, in-season open to buy management (OTB), and inventory flow. You will develop budgets and work with the Demand Planning team to determine allocation and replenishment strategies to ensure an optimal balance of inventory to achieve sales, margin, and turnover targets. In addition to partnering with leaders of Merchandising, Logistics, and Finance to develop strategy, align resources, handle risk, and increase opportunities to grow the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with merchandising and other cross-functional teams to support strategic seasonal merchandise reviews
- Lead the implementation of new tools, processes, and best practices to improve business performance
- Develop pre-season sales, margin, and inventory by using the go-forward strategy and merchandise vision
- Provide inbound forecasts to the logistics team to avoid fluctuations and ensure an accurate strategy is in place to deliver results
- End-to-end ownership of inventory from the vendor to DC for core products, and vendor to stores for newness products
- Direct short-term and long-term financial strategies and inventory levels
- Guide the team and monitor inventory results for assortment, promotions, in-stocks to ensure business results
- Develop and drive innovative, results-oriented strategies that drive sales, margin, productivity while managing inventory targets
- Apply knowledge of business trends, new product trends, promotional calendar, calendar shifts, cost structure into pre-season, in-season plans.
- Manage clearance and obsolete inventory by proactively recognizing future challenges and recommending exit markdown strategies while forecasting impact to margin

Qualification & Experience:
- 10+ years of retail planning and/or buying experience
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing people
