Job Description:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Sr. Purchasing Planner to join our indirect procurement team. As a Sr. Purchasing Planner, you will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining accurate supply and demand signals for a high volume of parts across several indirect purchasing categories, including ground support equipment, consumables, and spare parts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop demand models specific to category/project strategies
- Place purchase orders and collaborate on supplier fulfillment
- Serve as the point of contact for internal customers to resolve supply issues and address new demand
- Identify innovative ways to reduce supply risk while also reducing cost, by partnering both upstream and downstream
- Support internal customers on implementing advanced supply chain strategies such as long-term purchases, design for manufacturing to reduce cost, and improved quality
- Provide contractually required forecasts to suppliers and to purchasing team members as needed for RFPs
- Mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply by constructing and executing a well-thought-out supply plan that fulfills the needs of the product on time and at low cost
- Provide regular updates to internal customers and team members on project status and lead meetings including suppliers
- Ensure data integrity and strategic alignment by working closely with suppliers, engineers, and category managers
- Assess inventory integrity proactively, and prevent stock-outs while optimizing utilization of working capital
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work cross-functionally with different groups and teams
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
- Critical thinking skills
- Negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Qualification & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a supply chain, purchasing, or planning function
- Experience with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions
- Experience driving engineering improvements related to quality, logistics, and cost
- Experience with Power BI
- Advanced SQL and Excel experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or other technical disciplines
