Job Description:

This Sr. HR Generalist will support the Fort Lauderdale Station to the assigned business(s) on ‘first level’ ER issues.  They should be a proactive communicator and change agent, who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions. With directional support from HR leadership and HR Centers of Excellence, this role will act as a consultative business leader for company management to ensure effective alignment of HR support with strategic organizational objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development programs.
  • Recommend and effectively communicate HR practices, policies, procedures and initiatives, makes practice change recommendations.
  • Communicate and ensure understanding of laws, regulations, CBAs and organizational practices and policies related to employment.
  • Serve as a change agent by taking calculated risks, championing innovative ideas to gain support and manage/mitigate outcomes.
  • Monitor employee relations within assigned business units by analyzing trends, developing action plans, and assisting management with addressing issues and resolving conflicts.
  • Support quality sourcing and talent selection by knowing position requirements, managing hourly and 1st level mgmt. recruitment (Talent Acquisition) assignments, and reducing the cycle time to fill positions.
  • Participate in investigation of complaints and delivers effective and practical solutions; resolves and responds to ‘first level’ Team Member complaints filed.
  • Plan and direct implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of compensation programs, training and development programs, employment programs, and employee services programs.
  • Support and facilitate educational/developmental programs and initiatives by assisting with employee training that addresses the company’s training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, and the measurement of training impact.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and programs are administered in compliance with all legal and ethical standards in addition to being compliant with Federal, State and local posting requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Uses and is familiar with different interviewing and investigative techniques.

  • Ability to effectively utilize HR dashboard metrics with business groups.
  • PHR/SPHR/GPHR Certification preferred.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express and logically articulate point of view.
  • Proven ability to challenge and motivate management teams in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
  • Must be a highly organized individual, able to work independently and capable of working in a fast paced/deadline driven environment.
  • four days on-site/one day work from home.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience working with Collective Bargaining Agreements and unionized work force preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience with 3-5 years progressive HR experience with proven results.
