Job Description:
The United States Marshals Service is the nation’s oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The missions of the Service include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset seizure and forfeiture, apprehension of fugitives, prisoner transportation and custody.
Job Responsibilities:
- The incumbent serves as an Administrative Support Specialist responsible for providing support in administrative matters; serving as the liaison between the United States Marshal and staff members, representatives of other government agencies, etc.; performing special projects; coordinating actions, etc.
- Planning and conducting studies in order to identify, analyze, and recommend actions to resolve administrative issues/problems within the
- District office and to improve the efficiency and economy of operations.
- Providing advice, assistance, and training to District personnel on administrative processes.
- Reviewing administrative systems and work methods in order to recommend changes.
- Drafting administrative policies and guidance.
- Serving as an administrative liaison with other USMS offices.
Job Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship Required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Background Investigation.
- You must meet all qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- A one year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and security investigation.
Qualification & Experience:
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) to which you are applying:
- Must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.M. degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Business Administration. (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS.)
- GS-11: Must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade GS-09 in the Federal Service performing duties which include the following: 1). Serving as an administrative liaison between the senior/executive level agency personnel and staff members, representatives of other agencies, etc.; 2). Preparing briefing materials for senior/executive level agency personnel; 3). Providing advice and assistance on administrative matters; and 4). Identifying, analyzing, and resolving administrative problems.
