Job Description:
This position is part of the WAPA-DSW-Desert Southwest Region. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for providing necessary support for the procurement of supplies, equipment, and services for the Desert Southwest Regional Office (DSW)
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists and provides support to Contract Specialists with awards up to $25,000.00 to bidder/offeror meeting specifications, taking into consideration availability of items, prices, terms, delivery dates, reliability of vendor, quality factors, transportation and handling charges, warrantees, and such other information necessary to make a sound purchasing decision.
- Accomplish procurement actions utilizing the Government Purchase/Credit card within the limitations and in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures. Reconciles monthly statement with the Approving Official.
- Documents all recommendations and actions and compiles statistics and prepares reports on purchasing activities. Performs clerical duties in support of the procurement function. Files and archives procurement documentation.
- Develop requests for quotes. Solicits competitive offers and actively seeks new sources and potential vendors. Evaluates response to bids and requests for quotes.
Job Requirements:
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

- Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
